Sir, – What an excellent article by Prof Chris Fitzpatrick regarding the complex subject of abortion ("In the media everyone is pro-choice or pro-life. I am both", News Review, September 16th).
It is so welcome to have someone who is a specialist in the area and who can comment on the subject in such a balanced way.
It is so refreshing to read such a comprehensive account of the complexities of this area from someone who, unlike many previous contributors, is not fanatical, but comments from such a sympathetic and humanitarian perspective.
His sense of respect for all aspects of the subject is very welcome indeed. – Yours, etc,
