Sir, – While dining out the other night, I was approached by the waiter offering me black pepper from a pepper grinder that was so large it was more suited as a murder weapon than a pepper grinder. This ridiculous affectation has now become a regular fixture in Irish restaurants.
Please bring back the moderate-sized grinder and leave it on my table so that I can have pepper whenever I choose. – Yours, etc,
