Sir, – Tennis season is here again. The French Open is happening now. Can the tennis powers that be please put an end to the shrieking that is taking over on court! It is simply awful and takes away from the enjoyment of the amazing tennis which is being played. Pressing the mute button is not an option as the commentary adds to the enjoyment. More and more players (men and women) have become “shriekers”. It’s time to put a stop to it! – Yours, etc,

Sir, – I haven’t heard as much grunting as I’ve heard on the television coverage of the French Open since I visited the pig pen at Airfield urban farm in Dundrum, Co Dublin. At least the pigs appeared to be enjoying themselves. – Yours, etc,
