Sir, – Further to Frank Byrne’s suggested acronym THUD for our latest university (“Technological Higher University Dublin”, July 19th), I have always assumed that when the City of the Tribes gratuitously threw Mayo into the mix when naming their institute of technology it was to avoid the acronym GIT. – Yours, etc,
