Taxis and the ‘scenic route’

Sir, – Elizabeth Harrington (August 20th) recounts her recent taxi journey from Dublin Airport and protests being taken via the "scenic route". I suggest that the taxi driver was merely taking what the late Terry Wogan, in reply to a listener complaining about a similar circuitous route taken by another Dublin Airport taxi, referred to as the "long shortcut". – Yours, etc,
