Sir, – I set myself the task of getting into the top 10 of the Simplex leaderboard. I studied the clues and wrote all the answers on a sheet of paper. Then, when I was certain I had them all fully correct, I just typed them quickly into the grid. No pause. No stopping. No reading of clues. I was 28th.
How fast can some people type? Furthermore, when I checked the leaderboard for the last week, I noticed that the fastest time for each of the days was one minute, 31 seconds. Each day!
How is it possible that people manage to do the crossword in the exact same time, every day? Strange. – Yours, etc,
