Madam, - After a meeting in London with groups working at the coalface with vulnerable Irish people, the Minister for Foreign Affairs emphasised that this was an important and high priority area of national policy. He added that "organisations in Britain will receive some €7 million during 2005", less than €20,000 per day.
In contrast, last year the Government spent about €330 million on refugees and asylum-seekers.
