Madam, - Those who profess surprise at the double dealing of Fianna Fáil and the PDs, and at Mr McCreevy's underhand attack upon the electorate, must have forgotten their childhood Christmas reading.

The Scorpion asked the Swan for a lift across the river.

"But you will sting me to death" said the Swan.
