Sir, – Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin claims, in relation to the recent national economic dialogue, that “we are not going back to the social partnership model where representatives of any sectoral interest get to make binding decisions on everybody else” (“Government rejects trade union call to curtail tax cuts”, July 17th). Fair enough, Brendan. I assume this means that this is the last we’ll hear of Ibec? – Yours, etc,
