Sir, – If there are to be further pedestrianised streets in our cities, I suggest that public seating should be provided in these areas. This would offer a welcome place to rest and, incidentally, give thwarted car drivers an opportunity to sit and appreciate the quieter, less polluted urban environment. – Yours, etc.
