Sir, – It is churlish for older people to sneer at the Friday school protests (Letters, September 28th). Certainly some students are glad to miss classes, but equally certainly most have a serious purpose in view. What good would it do to gather at weekends? Wrenching themselves out of the pattern laid down for them makes the rest of the world pay attention. We have blasted their future. Let them protest as they see fit. – Yours, etc,
