Madam, - RTÉ's "problem with Portlaoise" was clarified on air by Pat Kenny. He says "Portlaois", because that's what the people who live there call it.
I used to try to make the town of Gort rhyme with shirt; but everyone I met while I lived in Clare made it rhyme with short. I took that to be my problem, not theirs. Like RTÉ, I bow to tradition. - Yours, etc,
