Sir, – Further to your obituary of Peadar Lamb ("Former Abbey actor who also featured in many TV and film productions", October 7th), he was a great loss, indeed, to not alone the stage and screen but also radio.
One of Peadar's earlier roles was that of young Christy Kennedy in that long-running radio soap, The Kennedys of Castleross. How many of us remember rushing home at lunchtime to catch up with the latest doings and words of wisdom from Mrs Kennedy while she offered her listeners "a cup of something hot"? – Yours, etc,
