Sir, – Mary Maher was indeed a key founding member and energetic contributor to the Irish Women’s Liberation Movement. She injected a detailed and down-to-earth note into the mission statement “Chains or Change” – to which I was a contributing author – based on real, grounded knowledge of the financial situation in the lives of women. She was an admirable person – and with a great sense of humour, too.
