RE-RUNNING NICE TREATY POLL

Sir, - Brian Cowen, as reported in The Irish Times of March 9th,appears to believe that the Irish electorate will say one thing on oneoccasion and something different on another. Thus he attempts to sellthis perceived insincerity of ours to other EU member states.

I myself do not wish to relinquish our right to national sovereigntyas presently laid down in Article 1 of Bunreacht na hÉireann, and asecond referendum will not alter my opinion.

Mr Cowen should think twice before treating the Irish people with such contempt. - Yours, etc.,
