Putting away the decorations

Sir, – In an effort to expunge the tedium of a second Covid Christmas, I have photographed each wall, piece of furniture and any other medium that holds a Christmas ornament so as to guarantee that no chain of tinsel or any flickering light, etc, will be set in the same location or orientation next year or indeed any year hereafter. To restore this year’s Christmas images, of a house I’ve scarcely left during the season, could be calamitous for my future wellbeing. The fact that all the baubles, et al, weren’t dumped in the bin is an indication of an even greater determination to support the “green agenda” this year. – Yours, etc,

MICHAEL GANNON,

Kilkenny.
