Sir, - While I agree wholeheartedly with Rev Henry Daniel Wheatley (September 21st) that all people, of any denomination, have a right to be left in peace and to have a choice to live where they wish without interference, does can he explain why young schoolgirls are the target of such venomous protests? I have never heard of small schoolgirls intimidating or threatening grown adults.
May I ask all clergymen, both Protestant and Catholic, to urge the people of Upper Ardoyne and Glenbryn to refocus their protest on the political parties and the terror groups in their attempt to have their cases heard and allow those frightened little girls to walk to school in peace.
After all, they are simply walking down a street to school, like millions of other children the world over. - Yours, etc.,
Ciaran Davis, Rosses Point, Co Sligo.
