Madam, – I am appalled that a public car park in Howth was turned into a farmers’ market at the weekend without consultation with the local residents.
Many of the stall-holders of the existing farmers’ market told me they don’t want another market. They have to double up their stalls to protect their business – which in turn doubles their costs.
We have now lost 60-80 car parking spaces from the main car park in Howth on the only day that the car park is full – Sunday. This has left us with a major traffic problem, as there is nowhere for visitors to park.
I have tried to contact the relevant authorities, but to no avail, as I am being passed from Billy to Jack. I would be very grateful if the person who made this decision would come forward and let us know why it has been inflicted on us. – Yours, etc,
