Sir, – The whistling and booing in Twickenham when Johnny Sexton was taking his penalty and conversion kicks on Saturday was appalling – a long way from my first match in Ravenhill in 1947 when Ireland beat England. The silence from all supporters when kicks on both sides were being taken was memorable.

How times have changed.

DAVID MURNANE,
