Sir, – On American Independence Day, it occurs to me that the UK might be about to install its first ever American as prime minister (assuming, of course, he beats Jeremy Hunt).
To my knowledge, it would also be the first time in history the US and UK heads of government were both born in the same city – New York. – Yours, etc,
