‘New to the Parish’

Sir, – Further to Sorcha Pollak's wonderful article "I lived in the refugee camp 10 years" (New to the Parish, November 11th), your readers might like to know that the exhibition "Migrant Women: Shared Experiences" is currently on show at the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co Mayo. The exhibition juxtaposes the experience of young female migrants from Ireland to the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries with that of female migrants from different parts of the world to Ireland in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The exhibition runs until June next year. – Yours, etc,

TONY CANDON,

Manager and Keeper,
