Sir, I am a mature student attempting the Irish examination in this year's Leaving Certificate.
My reason for writing is that found it impossible to locate a native Irish speaker, teacher or lay person, to give me grinds and/ or tutorials. I found the classroom setting unsuitable to my needs.
In a city like Dublin, with a sizeable number of native Irish speakers, I thought I would experience little difficulty finding someone to help me, alas nothing.
In the light of the efforts to promote interest in our native language and culture I was surprised that I experienced such difficulties.
