Madam, - Once again Martin Cullen is showing his extraordinary disregard for the Ministry under his charge.
Never mind our rich natural and cultural inheritance. Never mind our last remaining undamaged upland areas and the rare plants and animals found there. Never mind the European and Irish laws and conventions that Ireland has signed up to.
Forget about environmental impact assessment and planning laws altogether, and save us all a bit of money (which will come in handy when the fines start to roll in from Europe for non-compliance with environmental laws).
Never mind the experts' advice, the Minister knows better. Put your wind farms, masts and pylons where ever you please.
Minister for Environment and Heritage? Shouldn't that be Minister for Placation of Big Business and Developers? Roll on the reshuffle and let's hope we get someone who gives a damn. - Yours, etc.,
