Sir, – Barbara Dooley is right to be angry with the poor service delivered by the airlines with regard to her lost luggage (August 15th). However, the frustration of losing luggage is personal while the numbers behind lost luggage are global. Currently airlines lose 6.53 bags per thousand passengers. To ensure that no one travelling to or from Ireland loses their luggage again, we just need to leave these 6.53 bags at home. – Yours, etc,
