Labelling imports and Israeli settlements

Sir, – Alan Shatter's response to the recent EU decision on the labelling of goods in the occupied Palestinian territories is wrong (Letters, November 18th). The decision relates to produce originating from the illegal settlements; not goods produced or exported by Jews. Claiming that this distinction is "semantics" serves to obscure the legitimate motive of the EU Court of Justice. – Yours, etc,

JAMES BROWNE,
