Kicked into action

Sir, – Finn McRedmond misses the point (“Britain is bigger than the anti-Irishness of the Daily Express”, Opinion, June 19th).

What kind of country will only act on its most basic duty – to nurture and protect its children – when a courageous sportsman intelligently uses his fame to force that government to fulfil that duty when it has until then blatantly refused to do so? – Yours, etc,
