Sir, – While it is indeed regrettable that many cyclists proceed in a manner which puts them at risk, might Enda McDermott (October 30th) take into account that many cycle lanes are very badly maintained, that they frequently terminate without warning and that, on occasion, the odd cyclist may wish to turn right, before calling for their use to be mandatory. – Yours, etc,
