Sir, – With regard to Ibec's recent statement on the future of education ("Majority of school-goers will work in jobs that don't currently exist, Ibec says", Business, July 9th), an important comment needs to be made.
The “fact” that more than 60 per cent of the graduates of the future will work in jobs that don’t exist yet is completely made up. Further information on the history of this factoid can be found by Googling “BBC podcast jobs that don’t exist”. – Yours, etc,
