Madam, – Des O’Flynn, network manager for Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, blames the recruitment ban for poor hygiene levels at the hospital (Home News, January 8th).
The ban, we are told, precludes the appointment of cleaning managers. His solution to the hygiene problem is to wish to add another layer of management. Perhaps requiring the cleaning staff to actually do the work they are paid to do would be more effective.
The HSE already has too many chiefs and not enough Indians. When will they ever learn? – Yours, etc,
