Sir, – One of your letter-writers commented on the sea of blue European flags on display at the last night of the proms (September 14th).
She should be informed, however, that the EU flags were handed out by Remainers outside the venue who were trying guerrilla tactics to make a point.
If she had looked closer at the flags from other locations being waved, including the flag of Northern Ireland, she would have seen an abundance of “union jacks” and other national flags from Britain, belying the “One Europe” propaganda.
It would appear that while the elite who could afford to attend the Albert Hall were waving the blue, the common people in the parks had other ideas. – Yours, etc,
