PHIL HOGAN TD,
Sir - If Mary Holland (Opinion, June 20th) were to come along to any one of the regional consultative forums which the new Fine Gael leader, Enda Kenny, is hosting around the country at present, it is "rattle and hum" and not a "death-rattle" she would hear emanating from the grassroots of the Fine Gael party.
She might also catch a glimpse of the political vision Enda Kenny is articulating for a party that is determined to make a fresh start by squaring up to the challenge of change and renewal.
The "stirrings of political change" are at hand if only Mary Holland and others would take a closer look.- Is mise,
PHIL HOGAN TD, Dáil Éireann, Dublin 2.

Sir, - Last night in Dublin, I attended one of the series of consultative forum meetings arranged by Fine Gael's new leader Enda Kenny.
I want to congratulate Fine Gael on this initiative and and praise its willingness to embrace change and consultation. Those who danced on Fine Gael's "grave" will be pleased to know that the party is not on its way out, but has moved into a progressive time of listening - to its members and to the people - which, I believe, will restore its status in Irish politics.
Let's hope the good work continues. - Yours, etc.,
BARRY M. WARD, Pottery Road, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin.
