Sir, – Permit me to make a comment on Kevin O'Sullivan's letter (January 20th) regarding standing on escalators by quoting poet WH Davies: "What is this life if full of care, we have not time to stand and stare?"
More seriously, I would suggest we adopt the sign used by London Transport: “Stand on the right”. – Yours, etc,
