Sir – I was interested to read that a body termed the "Aircraft Noise Competent Authority" has made recommendations about night-time aircraft movements at Dublin Airport ("Move to close Dublin Airport's new runway from 12am to 6am", November 11th). Does the word "competent" cast aspersions on other State authorities that don't have that adjective in their title? – Yours, etc,
