Madam, - Jeffrey Donaldson was voted in as a UUP member. How can he now assume that his constituents will be happy to accept him as a DUP spokesperson? Were I to have voted for an SDLP candidate I would be very upset if he changed his allegiance and became a Sinn Féin member.
Surely Donaldson's switch calls for a by-election. That would seem to be the correct procedure to follow if the "D" in his new party does stand for "Democratic" rather than Donaldson. - Yours, etc.,
