Sir, – Judge Melanie Greally wonders why street violence in Dublin is on the increase ("Judge says Dublin city centre becoming increasingly dangerous", News, February 25th).
Perhaps, in deciding that three men convicted of a vicious, unprovoked assault on two hapless foreign nationals should not spend a day in jail, imposing instead suspended sentences, she has answered her own question? – Yours, etc,
