Sir, - Thank you for the pretty colour picture of the Sugar Loaf mountain following the travellers' departure.
Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Council has designated the quarry on Dalkey Hill to be a travellers' halting site. Hitherto, the area has been used for such sterile pursuits as strolling, climbing, sitting around, and admiring the scenery. It whets one's appetite to have a foretaste of how rocks, gorse, wild flowers and heather will be metamorphosed, like the Sugar Loaf, into a vibrant piece of late-20thcentury pop art. - Yours, etc., Hugh Leonard,
