Currency of celebrity

Sir, – I long for the day when the currency of celebrity, however tenuous, is no longer a prerequisite enabler of book publishing and subsequent promotion in this country.

The Irish Times and other national media have a duty to ensure all authors and creators of works of artistic merit have a fair and equitable platform of exposure. I feel in recent times this opportunity is very much diminished. – Yours, etc,
