Madam, - Dermot Harte (Nov 7th) affirms his viewpoint that Bishop Eamonn Walsh is "saintly", his justification being that Bishop Walsh "made no attempt to cover up the horrors of clerical abuse of youngsters, unlike so many of his fellow prelates".
Making no attempt to hide the evils of child abuse strikes me as decidedly ordinary. But then (considering Mr Harte's beatification of Bishop Walsh is by way of contrast with his church colleagues) I suppose "saintliness" is relative. - Yours, etc,
IAN KELLEHER, Carrigaline, Co Cork.
