Sir, – The photograph of the rubbish left behind after the Electric Picnic was utterly depressing (September 5th). A testimony to educated Ireland at play! Either bin the rubbish or take it home with you. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – Your newspaper rightly highlights the ongoing depressing record of littering in Dublin’s north inner city (News September 5th). In the same issue, an aerial photo of the appalling littering of the Electric Picnic site is a staggering indictment of the problem many Irish people have with cleaning up after themselves.
