JOHN RICHMOND,
Sir, - Sympathetic as I am to the eloquent letters of my colleagues and others who have stated to the responsible administrators the educational and cultural reasons for not annihilating the study of Greek and Latin in Queen's, I believe that political arguments are rather more likely to make an impression.
Belfast aspires to be recognised as a European City of Culture. The politicians presenting the city's case should emphasise the effect of this deplorably short-sighted decision. --Yours, etc.,
JOHN RICHMOND,
