Madam, - I must correct one point in an otherwise excellent article explaining the complications of conveyancing and the risks if it is not done correctly (Property, September 16th).
The Law Society does not recommend any rate of charge for solicitors' services and has not done so since the introduction of the Competition Act of 1991.
The fee to be charged in any particular case is a matter for negotiation and agreement between client and solicitor. - Yours, etc.,
