Sir, – According to the new census figures, about one sixth of the population was born outside the State. I presume large numbers of these people are neither Catholic nor Irish-speaking.
This would have a considerable effect on the results under these two headings.
I have not seen this fact mentioned in the media. – Yours, etc,
