Madam, - Parking at St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny, for eight minutes cost me the princely sum of €3 - and I have the receipt to prove it!
The new car park at St Luke's is beautifully laid out, nicely landscaped and well signposted, with brand new barriers and ticket machines. You take your ticket at the entrance barrier and on your way out you validate your ticket by paying the appropriate charge. In a normal car park the charge increases the longer one parks. Some generous car park operators even offer 15 minutes' free parking.
I have no objection to car parking charges, but this form of charging is a disgrace. - Yours, etc.,
