BRENNAN'S GOLDEN GATE

JOHN F. McCULLAGH,

JOHN F. McCULLAGH,

Sir, - May I suggest that, before Mr Brennan's dreadful appellation becomes common usage, this magnificent new structure in Dundrum be given a name more suited to it and to its location.

In keeping with the Irish tradition of naming bridges after its heroes, I would like to offer the name of Dr "Tod" Andrews as being most appropriate. Not alone was Dr Andrews a neighbour - for many years he lived at Taney Road, a few yards up from the site of the bridge - but, by his role in the closing of the Harcourt Street railway line, he provided the legacy of the ready-made right of way which Luas now enjoys for much of its route to Sandyford. - Yours, etc.,

JOHN F. McCULLAGH,
