An Irishman bitten

Sir, – The insect populations of Assisi and Belmullet seem to have it in for the Franks, with a mosquito attack on McDonald (Irishman’s Diary, July 29th) and a swarm of midges attacking McNally on his way home from the west (Irishman’s Diary, July 31st).

As their namesake might say: “Where there are insects, let us sow . . . caution”. – Yours, etc,
