Sir, – When you pursue wage-cutting, as our austerity Government does at present then you have to balance the other side by reducing the cost of living in all areas of society.
This is where the Government is failing dramatically. We have a Minister for Finance and a Minister for Public Expenditure, but where is the Minister in Charge of Reducing the Cost of Living?
I am asking The Irish Times to focus on this question. Where has the current Government reduced the day-to-day cost of living? It is my belief there is no answer as it continues to oversee a rise in the cost of living while cutting our incomes. – Yours, etc,
