Sir, Over the next few weeks we will all be meeting many people we haven't seen for years. It's amazing the way politicians can suddenly become visible when they want to.
In these heady days of preelection promises may I call on all pensioners to challenge their politicians to do what they should have done a long time ago and stop charging the youth and health levies on pensions. Alter all, by the time people retire they have already paid these over a working lifetime. In most cases by their retirement they have also given a job to someone else. Surely pensioners more than any other group have the right to benefit from the current boom in the economy?
Come on, politicians, I dare you. Make history. Agree on something. God knows it's long overdue. Yours, etc.,
Terenure,
Dublin 6.
