Garda vetting and child safeguarding can involve multiple processes

Surely, if I am Garda vetted to work with children in one sporting club, this vetting could apply to other clubs too

Sir. – I volunteer with a couple of sporting clubs in which my three children are involved.

To volunteer to coach children in any club, one needs to complete a child safeguarding course and apply for Garda vetting. I have no issue with this; however, I cannot understand why I need to complete both processes for each club with which I volunteer. Surely, if I am Garda vetted to work with children in one sporting club, this vetting could apply to other clubs too?

Also, if I complete an approved child safeguarding course for one approved sporting body why can that training not also apply to all approved sporting bodies?

Having just spent two hours attending an online safeguarding course that was nearly identical to another one I recently attended, I am at a total loss. – Yours, etc,
