Sir, – Further to letters about the Citroën 2CV, I recall a brilliant 1980s advertisement for the car. It itemised 15 accessories that were common in expensive cars, but were absent from the 2CV.

The strapline was: “No wonder it’s so reliable. There’s nothing to go wrong.” – Yours, etc,
