The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – To answer Bernie Linnane’s question (Letters, August 6th) the Christian Brothers are no longer responsible for the 100 schools to which she refers. The trusteeship and ownership of the school buildings, as well as the overall responsibility for upholding the school ethos, were transferred to a lay trust called the Edmund Rice Schools Trust (ERST) in 2008. – Yours, etc,

SEÁN Ó BRITAIN,

Drogheda,

Co Louth.
